Boon kind of looks odd on this page. When you can't see the rest of her she looks REALLY odd. All thanks to her deep chest.

And yes, those speech bubbles are supposed to be empty ouo I figure you can all imagine what a tall girl and a guy with a scar on his face might be talking about.
IMAGINATION?

I personally am amazed by your art skills. The expressions are so amazing! XD

X3 I like this. ;D That Tsavo better watch out. X3 Winning the battle with the leader of the pride is one thing. But if the females don't accept him they can turn on him and drive him out. XD Talk about outnumbered.

I would like to say that the story plot is okay... but I cant get over how much this copies ideas so blatantly from Disney. Some of the scene's art are outright plagiarism. You should be ashamed.

Machati, June 3rd, 2009, 3:55 pm

@Cat - This is decent sized 120+ page story so I don't think you should go around jumping to conclusions of TLK.
TLK-like scenes in chapter one are more supposed to be a "Disney inspired Tsavo's creation" shout out. The lion characteristics (like black noses, elongated faces) are alike to TLK in order to foreshadow.
But honestly, you really shouldn't go around insulting people's comics or art based upon 20-something pages. I'm sorry, but you do not know the plotline and its twists.
And of course if you know disney movies then you should know what Thumper says: If you've got nothing nice to say based on further than the first 1.25 chapters of a story, then shut up because you know nothing. bn___nd

@Mahchati- I don't really care how many pages you add. Its plagiarism. Its not even "Disney Inspired" its a "Disney Replication" i.e. PLAGIARISM. You do know that is illegal right?

I wouldn't even call this a stand alone comic. It's Fan-fiction. Names are different. Plot is less structured, but ultimately it comes from the same core. Still a form of plagiarism.

Maybe you had to use their art because you couldn't formulate a style of your own? I just hate that I had to stumble onto this crap. Just so happened you were advertised on another comic that I frequent. A comic that denounced that you had ingenuity all together. I have to say, that person was dead on.

If you cant accept criticism perhaps you should disable commentary on your web comics. There is always going to be people who dislike your work. No point in getting pissy about it.

Btw- Rofl@your high school-esque retorts.

Uh, I know I shouldn't be butting into other people's conversations, but...

@Cat: Do you know how many stories out there copy movie plots exactly? And these stories copy them much more than this comic, which only had one small scene that was similar to one in TLK.

How is the plot to this even remotely close to TLK? The only similarity I see is that the main characters are lions.

Finally, so what if Machati used a style like TLK's? She is not the first, and definately not the last, to use aspects of other artists styles in her own.

What you said about people always not liking someone's work is true, but at least they don't randomly go around yelling "plagiarism" and don't give any examples of how it is copying.
